Auto upgarde?

Hi there,

Does one have to uninstall the previous version of Avast Home, when a newer is released?

Or is the older automatically updated?

No. You don’t need to uninstall Avast! in order to update the program. However, if you’d like it to be automatically updated, you need to configure it. Right click on the icon on the taskbar and click on “Menu”, Settings, Update (Basic) and select auto at program. However, I’d recommend you leaving it “ask”, which is by default, if I remember correctly.

By the way an idea when 4.8 shall be updated?

It’s been 4.8 quite a while. The latest is 4.8.1296, which is out since November 26, 2008 and not so many people seem to be complaining of it. So, I guess it’s OK if you update to the latest version.

Does this still apply when updating avast from 4.8.1296 to 4.8.1335? Do I need to uninstall 4.8.1296 first?
