automatic update from 518 to 523 : Does it work ?

Hello,

My daughter’s computer is not very in a hurry to update to 4.5.523 despite the update option for program is set to the default value “ask”.

Browsing through the log viewer, there is no clue of a new version available like it was the case in October.

More informations :
Windows XP Pro french SP2 + all updates.
I’ve asked avast to update from 4.1 to 4.5.518 program update on Sunday with the tray menu.
The virus database has been automatically updated (today around 6:30 pm).
Default update parameters : auto for virus, ask for program.
servers.def is the default one (no beta installed)

Obviously it’s not a big issue for me but it can be for alwil techies and I won’t update for the moment.

The period of program updates is set to MAX 7 days (randomly spread), so your daughter’s computer has still 3,5 days period during which it should announce the new version available :wink:

There’s certainly no reason to resist :wink:
The number of users who’ll invoke the update manually is rather small (compared to the enormous amount of people who won’t) - so it won’t affect the servers in any way.
