I have been observing for some time (more than a year) that the automatic update of the application does not work, although I have set to update automatically. The computer is running every day and today 10.11.20 during manual health check I can see that the application did not have an update that was released 7.11.2020 13:21. Windows 10 is on the desktop and is logged in the User account (no Admin).
Updates are spread over a period of time to balance server load, Avast can’t update hundreds of millions of users at the same time.
So for an update released only 3 days ago isn’t unusual and well within the update cycle.
I have mine set to Manual Update as I don’t want it Update until I want it to.
EDIT: That said this 20.9 has only just been notified in the Forums ‘today’ https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=239611.0
The program was not updated for 56 days ?
From November 10th still nothing ?
I don’t know if this is related to your comment about “Windows 10 is on the desktop and is logged in the User account (no Admin).”
As far as I can remember, it needs admin rights to update.
Just as admin rights are needed to make any changes.
But the update will run itself and ask for login admin ? In my case, I think, still waiting for manual activation button “Check for updates”.
? automatic update waiting for 9 days ?
