Automatic Update Problem

When I turned on my computer this morning I didn’t get any automatic updates. The computer had been off for over 10hrs and my auto updates are set for every 4hrs. I’m still using 7.0.1407 version but shouldn’t I still recieve auto updates. I haven’t touched a thing to change any settings. Is there anyway to find out the last update version prior to doing it manually, which I did this morning. Says right now, at 7:52am EST (US) that my current version is,120308-1,with a release date of,3/8/2012 ,2:49:07 PM, The only reason I ask is that I always got automatic updates when I turned my computer on in the morning like I did today, hope someone can understand my little problem, thanks in advance. Oh forgot to add,I wanted to wait a little before actually udating the program itself because I noticed some people are having problems with it.

Upgrade to 7.0.1426 via inbuilt program updater

I already have version 7,

Fire.

120308-1 is the correct vps. There has not been any new update released today.

Thanks IROC,I installed the latest version of avast,7.0.1426 (already had 1407), a few minutes ago. The reason I posted in the 1st place is that whenever I turn my computer on in the morning, after it being off for at least 8 hrs, if not more ,I always got the pop up box saying my avast anti-virus has been updated. I didn’t get that this morning so I manually updated. Thats where I got the 120308-1 vps. I will just have to wait til the next update is available to see if its working Ok now. I didn’t change any settings or do anything different. I just get a little paranoid as I’m not very good with computers and any little problem seems like a big one to me,again thank you.

Busy servers ? Avast! glitch ? Better wait until next update.

and you are welcome.

I’ll let you know how I make out. BTW,just looking at the link to the virus update history, would I be correct in saying its only updated twice a day, unless something unusual occurs? Perhaps thats why I didn’t get the pop-up I’m used to. Maybe it was updated less than 12 hrs prior to me turning my computer off last night and then on this morning, just a thought. Really doesn’t matter, like I sais…will wait for next update to see if its working properly.

normal update is twice a day…more if needed…and some days none
depends what happens in the malware world…the bad guys sometimes have a coffee break…or FBI shut down a sever

Wish I wasn’t so paranoid about computers, lol. Whenever something that usual goes smoothly doesn’t it upsets me. Its always good to know that I, and everyone else can get help via the forums here.

Quick question,I see that a new virus update has been released (120309-0). My avast hasn’t updated on its own,is that because I have it set to update every 4 hrs and my last update was at 9:02 am (EST) and its now only about 1 1/2 hrs later,or should it automatically update whenever a new update release occurs??? Thanks in advance.

OK,problem solved,re-booted computer and the update took effect,no need to further respond to my posts, thanks all for caring so much!!!

,no need to further respond to my posts
well....i do it anyway

avast check for updates after startup…then if the computer stays on every 240min (default)
