Hello,
I run avast 4.6 home edition, and the automical updates don’t work. I have to do it myself every day.
I am on windows XP professionnal edition, and don’t have the administrator rights on this session.
Help me because I got some viruses because of this.
What can I do?
I would regret to change for another antivirus, but I have no other choices…
Thanks

What exactly does it mean, “don’t work”? Do any error messages appear?
Did you install avast! as Administrator?

"don’t work " It just not happens, nothing happens, no messages
I didn’t install it as administrator because all my datas are under the session windows xp professionnal where I don’t have administrator rights.

I’m afraid avast! has to be installed under Administrator account. You don’t have to be logged as admin later (to use avast!), but it’s necessary for the installation (and to enter the license key).

Can I change my account into an administrator account?
How ?
Thanks.

No, you can’t - you have to log in as an Administrator (using the correct login, e.g. “Administrator”, and the corresponding password).
