Default is Automatic. It appears there is a connection issue when Automatic automatically selects the Mimic VPN protocol; Firefox blocks grc site loading because it deems the connection to be insecure.

All VPN configurations work on all sites I visit except for https://www.grc[.]com. only when Mimic is automatically selected.

Mimic falls down when connecting to grc site.

  • Firefox displays a insecure block. Refreshing window will sometimes get the site but disappears shortly after.
  • All Chromium-based browers will connect but all show the same window output as displayed in attached png in (second reply) window below. Refreshing the windows in each browser results in no change.

It is possible grc site detects Avast Mimic VPN and fails to complete the secure handshake due to their configurations located at the site.

Please see reply below for more png’s attached to illustrate the Mimic issue specific to grc site.

Atached find four more png’s below.

  • WireGuard Beta shows native IP and VPN IP intially but always reverts to the snapshot below within 10 seconds.
  • OpenVPN displays native and VPN IP’s correctly.
  • Firefox blocks grc site when Mimic is in use.
  • All Chromium browers fall down on grc site when Mimic is in use.

Final reply detailing WireGuard and OpenVpn protocols work on grc site.

This time only three png’s are attached.

Workaround is to manually select either WireGuard or OpenVPN under Menu>Settings>VPN Protocols.

Do not use Automatic selection under VPN Protocols atm.
