Avast 0xc1 error

Hi,

I installed Kerio on my XP box,
then Avast (seems to be good ???).

I got the (french) message:
Erreur 0x000000c1.
L’écran splash n’a pas pu exécuter les programmes suivants:
c:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashSimpl.exe

I repair Avast, then boot, then des-install Avast, then boot, then install Avast, then boot, …
Nothing to do: I get the same message.

I read on this forum I was not the only one with such a problem.
But I never found a solution.

PS: I had installed Norton Antivirus, the des-installed, but have some “after-effects” in my Registery: (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Symantec/… and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/Services/Eventlog/Application/LiveUpdate/…)

Some help please?

Hi,

what version of Kerio do you have ?

XP Home or Pro ? are all Windowsupdates applied ?

please remove all traces of Symantec/Norton AV before installing other scanners → look at symantec website, e.g. ClickHere

or use the above board-search for details on this…
