Avast 12.3.2280 blocks internet browser

Hi,
Chrome or Edge browsers do not work properly with Avast 12. 3. 2280.
I am under Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview. I have to disable the firewall. Never have problems before!
Do you have a track?

Chrome browsers in Edge
Huh ? ???

Well even though I dont get OPs message fully, the same happens to me.

When Avast runs, Chrome can’t download anything (failed - network error), Battle.net can’t fetch files, and I can’t download any zip file that will arrive intact(checksum error, thus cant open).
Alot of game patchers don’t work anymore, Guild Wars 2 for example, Star Citizen and so on.

It only works if I disable all modules, does not work if I only disable web shield and FW.

Happens since the new version: 12.3.3154.23

My Avast blocks mostly all traffic and in browsers, reloading page several times seems to work since it caches it. Facebook won’t load at all, Google usually after 2-3 refresh hits. It is a problem of Avast Web Shield AND Secure DNS. Disabling just one at a time does not solve the problem. It has been happening since the Google crash in Central Europe on 22. Nov.

yves.castel,
there is no Edge in Windows 7.

Segaki,

Happens since the new version: 12.3.3154.23
version 12.3.2279 (+ 2280) is the latest. After that only a beta has been released (version 12.4.2281, build 12.4.3256.0) If you use the beta, please post in the correct forum. https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=15.0

Michal,
there hasn’t been a “Google crash”.

To all, without more (specific) information there isn’t much to say about what is going on.

Avast 12.3.2280 and 12.3.3154.23 are one and the same. The first number is the release number and the second is the current build number for that release.

Yes, sorry should have stated that more clearly!

Sidenote: This seems to happen only on my WiFi connection.
As soon as I connect a cable, the problem is gone.

Both networks are identified as “private”.

I might miss something here, did not really dive deep into settings etc. all is set to auto pretty much.

When you are connected to WiFi, do a “Scan for network threats”.

Done, no change honestly.

Did the scan report any problems at all?

Segaki are you running Windows 10 Insider ?

Nope it didn’t.

I am indeed!

You probably just supplied the answer to your problem.

Thanks I will try to confirm!

Yeah that’s it in my case.
Thanks for the pointer!
