Dear,
I have 3 pc’s, all 3 with Win7 SP1 and avast! Internet Security.
First I upgraded 2 pc’s to the version 2014.9.0.2006 - 131021-0.
Since : no Home Network connection between the two pc’s (message error 0x80070035 - can’t find the network), still had connection with 3rd pc. From the 3rd pc no connection with the first 2 pc’s.
I upgraded the 3rd pc and I have no Home Network anymore (error 0x80070035).
I already rebooted 3 or 4 times. Still doesn’t work.
Is there any solution?
With kind regards, André.
What are your settings in the Avast Firewall for this network? Did you select “friends” and “private network” when asked about the network type (should have a popup when you first install / update and Avast detects a new network)?
You may also need to go to Firewall Settings > Policies > System Rules and Enable Windows File and Printer Sharing.
If everything still does not work, you could enable logging of blocked packets (last screen below) and then see what is blocked by Avast’s firewall when trying to connect to the other Homegroup systems.
Let us know how it goes for you.
Hi, dbrisendine,
Thanks.
I already changed the name and code for my Home Network, and rebooted twice : didn’t help.
I will try your recommandation and will be back to you.
Grtz, André.
Hi dbrisendine,
In the annexes you will find my settings. I didn’t change anything.
See my next post for 2 more settings.
Grtz, André.
2 more settings … .
Dear,
I contacted my Internet Provider, who controled my modem/router. Everything OK.
The upgrade to 2014.9.0.2006 is my problem. Any suggestions?
Grtz, André.
Good News!
My problem is solved.
I de-installed and re-installed avast! Internet Security on my 3 pc’s.
This time avast detected my Home Network an I could enable the Network as ‘friend’.
Everything is like before.
Thanks folks, André.
