I group,
I just finished the install of Avast 4.7 home and done the update after everything until there.
But when I open Avast I cannot do a scan c:, I see no place for doing that, no icon at left side. Just the start button and it make nothing.
With this version 4.7 home free, can I make scan disk the help say yes, but?
And is icon near the clock with a little red o, is it work at the least in reel-time?

All images I have on the main interface are into a colon on left side.

I have nothing look like Local disks or Folder Selection anywhere on the interface.
The only other thing, it the start button and when I press it with any icon select just named up before. Messages say your selection it is not initialize.
I had put license key in (about Avast) and made update right after the installation without any problem.
On my Avast icon in right bottom beside the clock I have a little red O.
System : window xp SP2 home preinstall.

Like this image, this is the On-Access Protection Control and not the Simple User Interface (SUI), where you can run ‘on-demand’ scans of C:, etc.
To access that right click the avast icon, select Start avast! Antivirus, after a short memory scan you should see the SUI in my first image.
However, you have a more urgent problem, the Red circle over the avast ‘a’ icon, avast isn’t running properly.
This is usually associated with having another AV installed or not completely removed. Have (or did) you another AV installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?

Yes I had AVG When I download and installed the first time. But since, I desinstalled it and reinstalled without AVG run.
I checked the FAQ and made what it say to made. The repair run say it was update and good. The service thing in Window manager was good too.
I try to make the update programme and it say the program was already update.
When I click on Start avast! Antivirus, I have an error message :

Are you running an administrator account?
And did you uninstall AVG AV, or just disable it?
Besides what Tarq57 asked, can you try to repair your installation?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair). You must be connected to the internet while repairing.
