Avast 4.8 slows down my web speed a lot to the point that if i go on youtube some of the videos take for ever to load but its not just youtube its many sites!
and if i turn off web shield it speeds up again and sites like youtube and others are ok again
this seems to be a big prob
why is web shield slowing down my web so much?
Any help?
Which is your operational system?
Which firewall do you use?
Any other security program is running/installed?

Old versions of ZA have a bug that delays the avast scanning each connection 1-2 seconds, making impossible to browse comfortably. Are you using the latest version of ZA?
Any idea of what the earliest version of ZA is that doesn’t have the bug you mention? I use ZA(free) version 6.1.744.001 and I was wondering if it has it? It has seemed that since upgrading to avast! 4.8 that surfing is a tad slower sometimes (maybe). Anyway, if changing firewalls would help my web surfing speed I might consider it, but I doubt I would go to a newer version of ZA. How is the free version of Online Armor when used with avast! 4.8? Any known conflicts, slowdowns, etc?
I stopped using ZA before this problem arose and I do not know the version history of ZA but I believe that the first report of this issue was here. So from that date you may be able to work out the version connection.
i’m useing the most up to date version of ZA!
I have been using OA together with Avast! with no problems at all.
It seems to work good on XP.
On Vista, you can take a look on PCTools or Comodo.
