Hi I am running XP Pro Avast is still slow shutting down when I turn off my computer had the same problem on 98se but with the last avast program updates 98se shuts down fast now I hope the problem will be fixed for XP Pro in the next avast program up dates.

Recently, I had an unusual problem with Win98 shutting down properly and was looking into what could have been causing this to happen. I don’t think I will ever know exactly what the problem was because I did a file search for “*.tmp” and deleted most of the temp files, which seemed to relieve the problem but left me clueless on exactly what was the problem to begin with. Probably excessive temp files on my machine but who knows.
