Hi

A few hours ago i downloaded and registered Avast 5.0 I have updated everything and avast says it is fully operational and updated…
But in my taskbar there is a red shield like this :

It open the security center of Windows Vista:

Its dutch but it says that Avast 5.0 is possibly an old version.
I can ignore it but thats not a solution, thats just hiding it…

Am i the only one with this problem? Can i fix it?

Thank you,

Casper

PS. Sorry for my bad English i am dutch :stuck_out_tongue:

The latest version is 5.0.418 and the latest VDF is 100226-0. Check if you have the respective updates.

The Security Center is not the most reliable indication as it has its own problems with its database.

However, in this case reporting it is out of date, is frequently caused by the system date being incorrect, especially if the virus definitions are correct as mentioned 100226-0.

If you have the latest version, ensure the system date, day/month/year are correct and adjust as required.

If the system date is correct - Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. This has in the past resolved this out of sync issue between reported and actual VPS version.

It is just telling you you need to update your anti virus.
