Avast 5 doesn't have all of its functions?

I have recently downloaded Avast 5 and read the quick start up guide.

When I go to the tab, SCAN COMPUTER, it doesn’t have all of its functions. All I see is the Icons of the certain types of scans in large blank separting boxes. It has no text, a start button, or a more details arrow. Other than the icons, I only have the Create Custom Scan tab. Why is that?

Another thing is in the Summary>Statistics. All I can see is “Unable to show statistics. The parameter is incorrect.” What does this mean and how would I get this to work?

Please restart the computer.

Reboot, if no change then try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

I have had the older version of AVAST and recently upgraded to V5. It does not work with SolidWorks 2009 and has been tested and confirmed by them. When SAVE AS is used in SW2009, it shuts down the program. How can I get AVAST 4 back since I have already paid for AVAST 5???
