It is working, BUT it will not tell you anything unless there is a threat and to corroborate this, download with FDM a copy of eicar virus test files and immediately a warning will appear
If ashQuick.exe, is in that location that given, then there is something else required in Free Download Manager, some require a parameter. Unfortunately I don’t use Free Download Manager, so I can’t be any practical help there.
wait a sec; I got the parameters…I will edit this post…
OK, I can’t remember who posted that, Igor or pk…
Right now, the following command-line switches are (= will be) supported:
/silent - don't display anything even if malware is found (the difference is only in the return code available to the program that launched ashQuick)
/action:delete
/action:chest
/action:repair
Note that:
ashQuick always stops scanning when a first malware is found - that’s the one displayed in the final message. So, the fact that the final message shows some “less critical” malware ([PUP], [Susp]) doesn’t mean there isn’t any worse inside if the file is an archive.
the action (delete, chest) always works with the whole file, no matter if it’s an archive or not.
we’d really like to avoid turning this simple tool into another full-featured scanned, with the same options as the usual GUI-based scans
this said I don’t use ashquick.exe anymore, just redundant with the file shield and you can always add a few packers there if needed.
Tnx waking! 8) I made some minuscule mods to your batch file to suit my tastes and it works just fine.
I wanted some indication that a file had been scanned after being downloaded with FDM because a scan using ashQuick.exe in Avast5 Free doesn’t pop a window open while it’s running and does not show up in the scan logs in Avast5. Although 4.8 Free said nothing if the scan came up clean, at least I was presented with an Avast window while the scan was running.
