Well I was going to purchase a license for Avast Suite when it went final. Looking at the prices I can safely say that won’t be happening. Being forced into buying a 3 user license turns me away. Plus it’s AU $99 which is very expensive- as an example ESET sell Smart Security here 3 PC’s for $64, 1 for $45.95.
Hmm, the same here. Why would I pay for three PCs, having just one?
And the Polish page still has ver4.
Seems like a crazy option whilst there is most certainly a requirement for a 3 system license as there are many that have multiple systems, but that shouldn’t mean they drop the single license option.
they still offer a single PC license for Avast5/Pro…well probably taking into consideration that they must offer V5/pro license files to owners of V4/pro/1PC…

That is already getting a negative response in the forums, “why should I buy 3 licenses for 1 PC.”
Whilst the actual cost for a 3 PC license security suite is competitive with other 3 PC suites, having no single PC option is I believe a missed opportunity.

The price is reasonable but as you say why pay for three PC license when you only need one. Trend Micro does the same thing but if you call them they will change a 3 PC one year license into a one PC 3 year license. Avast should do the same thing IMO only as an option when buying the product.
can you please read my last post again, I reckon that you get a three PC license for the price of a one PC license in V5 suite, so ??? would you be happier if there was a one PC version for ten bucks less ??? :
I believe the 20$ extra compared to the pro version is the price you pay for the firewall and the anti-spam, which is normal, so you get two extra PC licenses for free in fact. This is just a way to promote the suite, and I find nothing to say against that.

Yes, that would be a nice idea, not only are you getting full use of what you pay for it also promotes loyal long term customers. As what incentive is there for a user to buy a 1 year license for 3 systems when they only have one system to renew at the end of the year.
I’ve made a small research among some top internet security suites, and for a person looking protection for a single PC, AVAST is significantly the worst solution regarding price. Regarding long-term subscriptions and renewals, it’s 70-80% more expensive 
They are getting greedy. :-\

I would like to help with the discussion on the prices.
First of all the Antiviurs Pro / Professional. The prices for avast 5.0 are actually set to be better than the old version 4.8. Here is a US$ table and not to mislead anyone I just double checked our website to make sure it is correct. The prices described below are standardly offered on the avast.com website. And I don’t think it could be called greedy. Far from it. The only Pro Antivirus configuration that is in the new system more expensive is the 3 year / 1 PC. It used to be 74.13 USD and now it is 82.46 USD. However. All other prices are better and some of them significantly.

Regarding the new avast! Internet Security. We can not compare to any previous product but could compare to the competition. This is how it looks like:

You could see that the only product that is cheaper than avast! Internet Security is McAfee with 44.99 USD. They do discount it quite heavily. It could also be argued that the 1PC AVG for 54.95 is by 5 USD cheaper than the 59.95 USD of avast! for 3 PCs. On the other hand, to get for extra 5 dollars protection for 2 more PCs is not a bad deal. We don’t push users to more expensive solutions. We simply offer competetive price of 59.95 USD for 3 computers. In USA, having more than 1 computer is quite normal.
For the other countries with local currencies - such as Poland - we will offer pretty much the same structure based on local situation = in many cases the price will be even lower. In the case of Poland, the situation right now is not fair for the local distributor whose site you have probably visited. While we have been able to roll out the Polish Zloty on our web the partners are still only offering the original pricelist based on EURO. But this will change hopefully very quickly.

All this is true, but:
My table was made with ONE PC owner in mind. Here (and in pretty few countries around) having more than one PC computer (desktop or laptop) is not that frequent.
Euro/USD exchange rate influences all products in the same way, so I don’t think it’s an important factor here.
I can understand that you’ve concentrated on the biggest markets, but currently other vendors have offers better aligned to economical situation here.
P.S. My bottom line is that I have firmly decided to move to Avast IS, but in the current situation, well, it’s a no.

Not a bad deal but its not 50% off for a 3 PC 1 year license.
