Avast 5 won't install

My Aunt’s motherboard died and she bought a new computer. I’m 600 miles away, so I have to work on her computer remotely. She is running Windows 7 Home. Her hard drive is divided into 5 partitions. Originally, HP made it 3, but I carved out 2. One for games and one for utilities. I originally installed Avast free in utilities. Then, last night after a backup, my utility drive was suddenly unformatted. I’m still trying to figure that one out. Anyway, I reformatted the drive and installed Avast from backup. But it wouldn’t work. So I deleted it and tried a fresh install. But it won’t install. This is what the log says:
“Extract: tried to extract ‘avast5.ini’ from pkg ‘ais_core’ but failed miserably. Error code: 0x00000002”

I have tried several times. What’s up and how do I install. Thanks.

are you installing avast at the same partition as the OS ? ( c:\.. ) if not try that....
