The program says it can wake the computer from hibernate, but it doesn’t.
I have selected this in the schedule options, also turned off “don’t start if running on batteries/battery mode starts”, (even though its a mains powered desktop) but it still does not work !
Can anyone advise ?
I’m not familiar with Avast’s “wake from hibernate” function, but just a thought: have you checked your computer’s BIOS settings? Generally there are settings there that will enable a computer to be awakened from sleep or hibernate.
I think (I’m not sure) that the Energy options will allow or block events to awake from hibernation.
It’s not a BIOS setting, it’s done within power options, and I’ve already enabled hibernation there.
I can’t see how Avast could wake a PC from hibernate (S4). The PC is off. It says wake from sleep mode in the schedule options BTW.
So give sleep mode a shot.
The problem is not the hibernation, I suppose, but the possibility of wake up.
As far as I know only direct user input aka power button etc can wake a PC from hibernate. Wake on lan using magic packets can also wake a PC when in hibernation if it has such support. The PC is off!
