When I first purchased Avast Internet Security…the firewall didn’t work. They said they were aware of the problem and they were working on it. After I re downloaded and the rirewall was “fixed”, it wouldn’t let me on the Internet. I tried to install on my new computer just to have the same thing happen. This time the “new” program didn’t work. With the license installed, the firewall won’t activate. Now there is no firewall on both computers, or firewall on one and no Internet, and no firewall on the other. I haven’t gotten any help from support. When Petr Bucek, the support tech, sends me my solution, he suggests I read the manual. Like I never thought of that. I want to get my money back and I informed them that I was going to challenge the charge since no one can help me, but I haven’t heard from them at all. It isn’t my fault the thing won’t work and now it seems they are upset because their solutions don’t work! Has anyone had any problem like this? Or am I a stand alone?
Welcome to the forum.
It would be nice if you supplied us with some information as to your operating system
and what other security software is currently running on your system.
Which Antivirus program did you use before avast! 5 IS and how exactly did you remove it?
The more information you supply, the easier it will be to help you.
Hello,
Well, the laptop is WindowsXP and the new computer is Windows7. I was running Bitdefender before and it was more expensive to renew so I researched and decided on Avast. I used the uninstall in the windows tools. I am now using the Windows Defender for a firewall, but I turned it off when I tried to put in the license. Any suggestions you can offer will be appreciated. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling like I was directed but no change.
Thanks
Windows Defender is an anti spyware. No a firewall. Its shouldnt conflict with avast! as i use it and many use it with real-time on.
Windows Firewall is a firewall.
