I just did an upgrade from free Avast AV to the for $$$ Pro security suite pkg. Now, my VPN/secure web browser application, called Anonymizer Universal, no longer will access its web server, and won’t start with the Avast firewall operating. Anonymizer still works if I shut down the Avast firewall app., and restart the WinXP SP3 firewall. This application (Anonymizer Univ.) has worked with four other firewall products I’ve used on this system in the past, without problems. It would seem the Avast firewall module needs some additional development work. Many settings have been tried with respect to the packet transmission protocols, etc. Nothing seems to affect the function of the Avast 6.0x firewall, and its interoperability with Anonymizer Universal. I think I want my money back. This program behavior is absurd nowadays. Just how long has the PC security application software companies been at this? Long enough that the basic stuff one expects should be a no brainer.
May I suggest deleting the relevant rules of the firewall? Then reboot and try again to use those tools. The firewall should ask you for permission again, and you could build the rules anew.
Please report back.
Hi,
As per my suggestion ,That is not a solution for this particular case ,We need some Easy rules to apply the firewall ,So that everyone can be customise according to their requirement.
Thank you.
