Avast 6 Free Final Review and Malware Test

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwUmT9d59CU&feature=channel_video_title

The moron should have done a boot scan. ::slight_smile:

One of the worst “tests” I have ever seen.

Definitely no Avast! expert

By disabling the File System Shield you also disable the AutoSandbox, and he didn’t even know that ;D

Greetz, Red.

id assume anyone wanting to be taken seriously should know how to use what they wer testing…

Yea, this guy was pathetic. I like to watch AV test videos to get a feel for the program. Some say they are a total waste of time, and statistically irrelevant, but not to me…This guy was just flat out weird.

I look at AV youtube videos like recruiting a softball player. Say I go to see her in a game, and she goes 4-4. I know that doesn’t mean she’ll go 375-375 for me over a season, but it gives me a general idea of how she handles herself at the plate. Same goes if she happens to go 0-4.

That’s how I see the prevention videos. Not the gospel, but a pretty good idea of what a user might expect.

YouTube “reviews” should be banned (here and globally). ::slight_smile:

Yes, he’s a square idiot. However, he made one point visible (even though unintentionally): wouldn’t be too bad if the menu “Extra Protection” showed the Sandbox being disabled when FSS is turned off.

A complete piece of bull sh :-X t review test

hmm this test is the worst av test ive ever seen in youtube…he disables the basic shields(along with the sandbox which is part of the file shield)…then he gets annoyed coz of the sound of avast pop ups and he says it doesnt find all of them…and instead of boot time scan he runs Malware bytes and catches whats left behind saying that avast isnt good at cleaning…ok i cant believe i gave +1 in his “views” number for watching it…

+1 to that.a notification saying that sandbox is disabled is good to exist…

One good thing…It shows how good the web shield is. ;D

Yeah, right. That was impressive - though the moron called it “annoying”… ;D What a dumbass.

Well, at least he gave us a good laugh…!! ;D

+1
Autosandbox is a part of filesystem shield… He can know that when it’s settings are under filesystem shield settigs ;D

BTW Cudgelwap is only 16 years old so he don’t surely know what is “real antivirus”, he knows only av’s like norton etc… but the antiviruses like avast! are unkown to him.

And avast! software should add the note to autosandbox for dumbs like cudgelwap - “Autosandbox is turned off when file system shield is turned off”

+1. I stopped watching when he began disabling the shields. I had a good laugh though…

let’s consider the positive aspects of the review: avast’s Web+Network shields did a fantastic job at preventing most of the malware samples from infecting the computer in the first place — only 1 sample “slipped through”. To me, PREVENTION is far more important/significant than (after-the-fact) removal… and avast did very well here!!

I also was pleased to see the excellent job MBAM did at (after-the-fact) removal.

I have both programs installed (with only avast running in real-time). Fortunately, I haven’t ever needed to rely on MBAM to remove things (since my surfing habits and/or preventive protection are doing a great job)… but I’m glad to know what MBAM is capable of doing, if ever I were to need it.

All in all, I see the positives: avast does a great job at protecting the user, and MBAM does an excellent job at cleaning up messes.

He took the video down. Go figure. What ever. I made a video when I was using KIS but yet I knew everything about it. Its called “KIS in action” for those interested.

LOL for this I’ll give him thumbs up

BTW
Cudgelwap1: Sorry everyone. My Avast video was somewhat of a dud. It was too improvised, and I will be making another improved version soon.

Cool. 8)
More laughs on the horizon… ;D

More laughs on the horizon... ;D

LOL
…He will first learn something about avast! and then post a video
