i post my log i hope in a solution! thanks
I AM AFRAID THERE IS NO SOLUTION?! :-[
I ran your log through an analyzer and the only thing I noticed was that you are using XP SP2 and you should be using SP3 as that is the most secure version of XP. The SP3 has been out for many years as well as many important updates that requre SP3 being installed. Perhaps that is part of the problem.
EDIT - also, if it were me, I would run HijackThis again, check the box beside this entry …
C:\DOCUME~1\jim\IMPOST~1\Temp\AdskCleanup.0001
… and then click on fix.
But, Eddie is more of an authority on HijackThis than I am and hopefully he will post again soon. So, you might want to wait on his next post before removing this entry.
You can find an explanation of what “AdskCleanup.0001” is at:
http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/adskcleanup/237943/#.UFsLnEXA-uk
Not needed but not dangerous unless located in System32 folder.
oh wonderful, so i shall remove adskcleanup?
i know what is adskcleanup , it is of autocad!!
I’ve been busy with real life. Sorry for the late response.
Your HJT log looks ok to me, no strange things or so in it.
I do see however that you have the Google update service running.
This is a known culprit that can slow down things a lot.
I suggest :
- Run the cleaner option in CCleaner and let it remove all things it find.
- remove the C:\Programmi\Google\Update\ folder and it contents.
- run the registry scan in and have it fix all problems found
Run the registry scan over and over again till nothing is found anymore while rebooting between each scan/fix to make sure the changes are effective.
Let us know if that helped or not.
i do it all! thanks but pc is slow again only on startup, after i see desktop i heard hard disk work! shall i assign an stati ip to my wireless network? the icon appears after a minute!
Please tell us you system specifications.
Has Windows 7 always been on it or did you install it later?
Did the slowdown start after a software update or hardware change?
Also provide other information that can be related to the problem.
i have win xp and install avast 7 internet suite after remove avast 7 free.
Go to Windows update and install ALL available updates to start with.
Avast is the issue - do not listen to what is probably ad’s for disk clean up - it is an amazing waste of time to run all these scans when all you have done is install Avast - hopefully there is a common support link somewhere to adjust the correct settings.
Again, commenting on outdated topics. If you are having problems with avast please start your own topic.
