Hello Please could anyone help?
I am using Avast 8.0.1488, Windows 8,and Malwarebytes Pro 2013.
When I run PC Security Test 2011 the results advice to improve security - anti-hacking protection: Install a personal firewall software.
Anti-virus protection: You have a good anti-virus protection.
Anti-spyware protection: Install an anti-spyware software (or anti-virus/anti-spwyare). Install a protection software that protects your web browser.
Why hasn’t Avast protested against the fake infected files?
Many thanks
I haven’t a clue what this PC Security Test 2011 is, given that it is supposedly two years old (ish) it in itself is behind the curve, so I don’t know how reliable its testing is. Or perhaps what it is trying to sell ?
What they mean by fake infected sites is the other question as avast is perhaps leading the way in detection of hacked and infected web sites, the web shield has a relatively high detection and accuracy rate.
When you/they talk of fake sites, I presume they mean phishing sites (avast does check for phishing sites as do many browsers) the avast network shield also checks for sites in its known malicious sites list. The other point is that it doesn’t matter if this site is fake or not the point is is it infected and the web shield is very hot on that.
OK. Thanks for your help and advice.
