Avast above 5.0.677 crash XP when opening some folders

HI!

I’m using avast more than 1 year, and before version 5.0.677 was zero problem. After upgrading above 5.0.677 my computer freezes when i try opening some folders, e.g D:. Folders on C: can be opened. The problem exists in Avast installed on XP SP3, but not exists on Win7. My desktop computer crashes, and my laptop too, my friend computer, etc. We cannot use avast above 5.0.677 on XP. No virus, no malware, no HW failure. I’m HW/SW expert, working in a computer service station.

We like Avast, please correct the problem soon! Sorry for bad English :).

Prosatanos, it’s difficult to troubleshoot an old version.
We’re all on version 6.0 and even trying the latest beta.
Can’t you upgrade?

The problem also exists in the 6.x versions.

Switch to version 6 so it can be discussed in this forum. There’s really no use troubleshooting an old version.

The problem exists in the 6.x version too. (I have tryed, but no, or little change). If i install the latest version, how can i help?

Well obviously old versions won’t ever be fixed and noone’s going to install them just to troubleshoot your issue…

I do not want it too. Ok, i install the latest, but nobody wants to be noticed that the new 6.x version freezes my systems too, the same way? Please forget the past versions!
