Yesterday I attempted to add a new email address to my Avast account because the primary address I registered with is no longer valid. I add the data, click the buttons, no email verification sent? Address still sitting in the ‘unverified accounts’ entry field.
How do you properly add an email address to the service account and how do you delete one, in this case the ‘primary’ one which is no longer active.
I imagine that an email is perhaps being sent; to the non-valid address, eh?.
You must first use icon/email address top right that gives you the Manage Emails option.
This allows you to add a new email address, once you have added your new email address, as far as I’m aware it should send an email to it. If it isn’t doing that the only thing I can think of is:
you entered is wrong.
it may be possibly be getting put into a spam folder.
I don’t recall (its been a very long time) if it sends the email to your default email address or to the new one. After all you must have entered the correct ‘default’ email and password to log on to your my.avast.com account.
Now go back in and set the new email as the default email.
Ya, done all that. The entry fields for ‘Send email’ are still filled and idle. I keep clicking ''Send Eamail" next to each new address. Again, I imagine that it is sending these emails to the invalid address, only explanation I can logically see.
Not a bot. I put the data in…nothing happens after that.
Still searching for the solution.
Something of one…finally got a hotmail account to register. My primary can’t receive the verification request…m’eh. Invalid one removed; that is what my solution was seeking.
The verification email was sent to the new email address as shown in the video. It was in the spam folder which isn’t Avast’s fault.
I suggest you check with your ISP why the email isn’t being received.
The function works as it should.
