I just recently got Avast Internet Security a few days ago but since installing it, I notice profound performance issues across all browsers that I use; firefox, chrome, except opera I use this too but didn’t notice any issues. I use Google Adwords and the performance issues are appalling especially on Firefox. For whatever reason the memory would spike dramatically on Firefox to the point it would peak over 1gb. On Chrome it approaches to 1gb. But this doesn’t happen on Opera. I tried disabling the shields, password manager, and some of the other options like https scanning but nothing seems to really do anything. The main performance issue for me is with Google Adwords but it does also seem to affect the browsers overall as well such as some websites would load as though they seem to be lagging a bit. I know it’s not my isp as I am on a 60mb cable.
Before Avast, I used Webroot SecureAnywhere and had zero performance issues so I wonder what the heck is Avast doing to my computer? Aside from the web browsers there are no other system related performance issues. My PC is a high-end enthusiast gaming computer with more than enough, well more like overkill specs to handle Avast. This is just so frustrating and makes me regret buying it.
