Avast Agent Update and AntiVirus updates finally showing on cloudcare and client machines!

It seems in cloudcare agents are showing up red finally and alot of our computers that just kept saying to date (they weren’t) are now finally finding updates and updating, wonderful! this solves a big issue we we’re having with the updates not showing on cloudcare or the client machines.

i spoke too soon, only the cloudcare agents have updated, the client versions are still all stuck on 24.12 or older which is still a 4 months out of date and for our sake we need the latest updates all the time for security reasons

and around 60% of the machines say offline, “Upgrading” and we have no access to them now as alot of these machines are offsite and now we cannot get access to them through cloudcare remote,

they’ve been “upgrading” since last week all saying offline and we know they’re not offline as we’d have alot of angry employees, so it seems like the avast update is just stuck on ALOT of the computers

We have about 9 computers stuck on “Upgrading”. They all currently show off-line. We have about 218 computer that are out of date for their agent status. So, it looks like Avast have not solved this issue yet.

yeah, we’ve noticed this issue since December, been hoping it would be fixed by now, some of our machines have out of date agent versions and anti-virus versions from all the way back to 2023, only a few go that far back as most are on December 2024’s update, still 4 months out of date, and they always still say up to date when they’re not.

we’ve tried restarted said machines and cannot get them to update, this is very annoying and worrying for us

Yeah, it isn’t great, for sure. Sometimes, not all the time, if you hold down the ctrl key and right click on the Avast icon and click on “Reauthenticate”, it might update. I realize that it is a pain, and you can’t do it remotely when it shows off line, but I thought I would mention it.

didn’t know that was a thing you could do thanks! but didn’t seem to help for the few i could test it on, seeming like the only way we’ve been able to fix it and uninstall and reinstall, which isn’t a option for most of the machines as we dont have physical access to them

Hah! I learned something today!! Thanks for sharing the ctrl-right click trick!

Yes, we have used that fairly often. Sometimes it can make a computer “reappear” in the portal, or force an update.

been trying restarts, re authenticating and still tons are stuck on updating and reinstalling isnt a option for most of these machines as we dont have anyone on site in those locations that if anything goes wrong can fix em, so we cant risk it and most computers we just have no access to what so ever, very frustrating

Is there anyone from Avast watching this? Maybe they could give some insight.

not sure wish there was a way to tag someone from avast so they would be aware.

@InfratechSolutions is avast or anyone aware of this issue?
