Hello !
I use Ashampoo Firewall in combinaison with Avast!
They work very well together… but i have a question with the “On Access” Scanner: In avast!, my On Access scanner (Standard Shield) continues scanning files, but when nothing appears to happen, the Scanner is still working, (the “a” ball turns), and it scans always the same file :
“C:\Documents and Settings[User]\Temp\ASFWHide”… It appears to be related with the firewall…
What should I Do?
I use Ashampoo Firewall (free version) and Avast, overall the two work very well together for me too. I had a similar problem where Ashampoo made avast go a little crazy. I uninstalled the firewall cleaned the registry up and then reinstalled it and its been fine since. I had previously installed Avast after the firewall, whether this matters or solved it I don’t know, it’s a small thing to try and may work for you too. The ASFWHide is the session settings for the firewall from what I can gather. It is protected while the firewall is running and cannot be deleted unless you shut the firewall down. CCleaner was what I used to clean the registry.
I’m a newbie with little tech experience but it solved my problem, so thought I would pass that on
You don’t mention what sensitivity you have the standard shield set to, Normal (the default), High or Custom ?
