Has anyone else had a issue with the customer service at Avast. I was having a problem, they failed to resolve it and now are refusingn to refund my money. BUYER BEWARE
It wouldn’t hurt knowing which “support” you are refering to. Can i guess, was it iYogi? Thanks
Who failed to resolve it…??
What is your problem…??
I had the same in mind.
Well lets define just who you mean and I suspect that you mean iYogi and I wouldn’t go to them for the time of day.
iYogie Issues - Adam Riley, riley (at) avast (dot) com Avast Third-party Support Manager, has requested info about iYogi, so if you have time to recount your experience (copy and paste your post, etc.), give the link to this topic.
- Related if you want to contest the subscription charge if you aren’t satisfied, if you used PayPal [url]https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=security/chargeback_guide[/url.
You can try calling iYogi and tell them you are not satisfied with the service or the charge and tell them you are going to file a PayPal chargeback. This is likely get them moving quick because the payment gateway they use is Paypal. If there are enough complaints, Paypal will put a stop on their transactions if they exceed the allowed threshold of chargebacks. Not only that I believe iYogi are meant to guarantee that if the customer isn’t satisfied that they will refund, so worth a try.
Didn’t think I would get such a pointed response. My issues was that I was trying to renew my Avast anti-virus subscription, for my laptop,it was due to expire end of the month. I called the number for Avast to see if they could resend my license number that I was being prompted to provide. The customer service rep who despite my best efforts could not understand my rather loud english voice and I could not understand his rather thick accent. This rep eventually hung up because he did not understand what I was asking for. The third rep I spoke to finally sent me the required info. Well this in turn rendered my wifi useless, I know I think this was also strange but low and behold when I remove Avast from my laptop, bingo wifi work perfeclty. So I request a refund as Avast is not for me…I am then asked to provide all the imformation they already have on my file…they sent me this information that they were now asking for. Last email I recieve from their brilliant customer service rep is “Were sorry they time limit has expired for a refund. I purchased at the end of Jan 2012 for two year coverage on up to three PC’s” I know what everyone is thinking “gotta read the small print”. My frustation stems from not being able to talk to someone who I understand and can understand me and the fact Avast has done nothing but stonewall and ask for repetitive information they already have.
Your first port of call really should be the forums, as can be seen by the response and you can bet we have seen it before(it is hard to be the first person to experience a problem).
Resend avast License http://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php, you will need to enter the email that you used when purchasing the license, e.g. the one that the original email with the link was sent.
He is not telling about Iyogi… It’s Avast customer services- sales
