There are a number of long time Avast users that still run an xp OS and Avast from my experience runs fine> ‘if one has sufficient Ram to run the components they installed’.
The more “tools” installed the more Ram and System resources are allocated to sufficiently run those components.
Not enough Ram then things bog down. My Dell doesn’t have much Ram so I don’t have many extras installed and all is fine.
