Avast Anti-Theft with WIFI only Tablets

I own a GT-5110 (Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0). I am debating if I will get any benefit if I install Anti-Theft on it. Because I know on my phone I can send SMS to activate the security or even a change of a sim card. However on a Tablet without SIM or cellular broadband, i dont see how it will be benefiticial.

Does sending commands from my Avast! Account work for a tablet (when it finally connects to a WIFI) ?

Yes, it does, but you have to have set to connect to any wifi which is accessible (to assure, that tablet will connect to internet); anyway, commands are passed throught internet too, so you can remotely pimp your device.
