Task Scheduler still shows C:\Program Files\Common Files\AV\avast! Antivirus\backup.exe with parameters /backup /iavs set to run at system startup and at 10:05 PM every day.
It leaves behind 3 files in C:\Progam Files\Common Files\AV\avast! Antivirus, one which is backup.exe.
How can I complete removal of Avast?
Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
Removing avast manually is the only way to remove avast completely. (unless you want to format the system)
Remove avast through control panel (feature and apps)
Run avastclear
Remove all leftovers (folders/files/registry entries)
