Avast blocking navigation

Hello guys,
Out of the blue AVAST started blocking all my navigation. It started yesterday(31/10/2014). It doesn’t matter which site i try to load, im always getting stuck at loading.

I know it’s avast, because the only way i can navigate is uninstalling avast completly, usually using avastclear.exe. Stopping all modules doesn’t work at all… :-
I did everything in my reach, Uninstalled, then reinstalled; repaired the installation; stopped all modules and nothing worked.

I’m using avast premium version 2015.10.0.2006. Since i have premium, obviously i bought the license and don’t want to toss it away by using another antivirus app.

I don’t know what exactly is happening, if avast is blocking the site http requests or if it’s blocking my isp dns. This is trully a pain in the a**. Since the only solution i have in hands is using another antivirus or use none at all…

Does anyone have gone through this and solved the problem? Please help!

Oh, and by the way, i live in brazil, so i can’t call avast support to help me. And sorry for the bad english.

what do you mean by navigation?...... is it a GPS program?

My guess is navigating the internet not GPS. Given his comment “It doesn’t matter which site i try to load, im always getting stuck at loading.”

In instances like this the most common cause is something blocking avast - commonly your firewall.

What is your operating system and firewall ?
Does it allow avastSvc.exe internet access ?

  • If it does delete the entry for it and reconnect to the internet, this should force the firewall to ask permission again.

My firewall is disabled, and i use W7 x64

I found something about the Safe DNS module blocking DNS requests.
What i did was: uninstall avast, then reinstall it without the Safe DNS module.
Tried and it seems to be working just fine!

I think that was the issue, or else, was something odd that magically got resolved…

And by the way, @Pondus, yeah, it was internet navigation dude, what else could it be? ^^

Thanks for the help guys!

You’re welcome, sorry it wasn’t more productive as I don’t use the Safe DNS function.
