Avast blocking website

Hiya folks,

New member to the community here. I’m the founder/owner of the site: hXXps://stonkforums.myvnc.com/forums/index.php which is a message board community devoted to discussing the stock market.

I was informed from one of my members that my website is being blocked from your software Avast. I suspect the reason for this was from not having SSL certificates setup for a time. That was recently fixed and the site now has proper SSL certificates installed server side.

One of my members has tried using the false positive report submission form to contact Avast regarding this issue, however it’s been a few weeks now with no responses whatsoever unfortunately… :frowning:

Just a little dumbfounded for why Avast would not get back. How long does it usually take for them to get back to these types of reports? If ever at all?

If anyone can help me with this matter would be unbelievably appreciated.

Thank you greatly for your time in advance for whoever can help.

Regards.

You’re welcome.

Whoops, my sincere apologies there with the link! I’ve edited the original post to break the link as directed.

Thanks for your prompt reply David! Much appreciate it.

Please break active links to suspect sites to avoid accidental exposure, only post the domain-name or change the https to hXXps to break the link as I have in the quoted text.

I don’t work fro Avast but am an Avast Antivirus user.
Not seeing any details on the Avast Alert it is hard to guess why it might be alerting on the site. So I initiated a connection to trigger the Alert - See attached screenshot - click to expand.
Avast no longer sends a reply - but will check the site within 48 hours - if it is found to be a false positive then it will be removed, otherwise it will remain.

Did some checks on hXXps://stonkforums.myvnc.com
Only one detection hers - https://www.virustotal.com/gui/url/21709be27e24f44bf094359a1097d8db37fc1b06efc6c90b6c17e0fb90d519b2?nocache=1
Site Outdated - Also considered a Medium Security Risk - https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/https/stonkforums.myvnc.com - with hardening improvements.

  • These may or may not be what Avast is alerting for - but you should certainly address this.
