This issue came up previously and we had the following fix:
Right click Avast Icon
Select On Access Protection Control
If there’s a button at the bottom that says ‘Details >>’ hit it (if the button says ‘<< Less Details’ you are in the correct spot).
Scroll down the Installed Providers menu on the left and select Web Shield.
Under Provider Configuration hit the Customize button On the Basic tab, type “lps.cbssports.com” in the Ignored Addresses field On the Exceptions tab, click ‘Add’ and enter http://lps.cbssports.com/* Then Hit OK
Unfortunately with the new version these instructions no longer work and I have been unable to find where to enter the same information. If anyone can offer some possible solutions it would be greatly appreciated.
Oh yes they do, but they are in a different location.
From the avast Settings, Troubleshooting, Redirect Settings, click the inverted triangle for more details. Scroll down to the WEB section, Ignored addresses: field and enter the IP address you want ignored.
DavidR – I tried your remedy in the new version of Avast! Free. It worked for a day or two and then the same problem came back – live scoring won’t connect on CBSSports scoreboards.
Well if you are effectively excluding that site from being monitored by avast’s web shield I don’t see how the problem is related to avast.
I also don’t know what you have entered in that redirect settings section, Ignored addresses: field ?
I believe it is better to enter the IP address rather than a domain.
I am experiencing the same problem – Avast blocks live scoring on the cbsspsorts scoreboards. I have entered http://lps.cbssports.com/* in the ignore list and clicked on OK, but if it works it only works for a day. I am also convinced Avast is the problem because when I disable Avast the scoreboard then connects to live scoring. (I enable Avast after it connects and it continues to connect).
Any suggestions as to how I can connect to live scoring without temporarily disabling Avast?
