Avast blocks the installation of tweaking.com registry repair

Hello,

When I want to install or update tweaking.com registry repair , the install stop after few seconds with error on irsetup “Encoutered an sharing violation while accessing C:\Program files …\registry backup tool.…”

If I stop avast supervising , the installation is done correctly

Same issue today for v3.6.2 install with avast 2016.11.1.2241 as last week for v3.6.1 install with avast 2015.10.1.2218

False positive only for me ? Here yestarday essexboy post where cornerstone3 seems to install without issue

Just tested it and it installs without a problem on my system.

Perhaps the problem only exists on a specific OS.

chris05, have you tried adding the URL or file path (depending upon how your updating) to the “Exclusions list”?

If you’re using “Hardened mode” then try adding the same to the “Exclusions list” for “Hardened mode” (click on “Hardened mode” tab in UI for this).

lakrsrool,

it is not a problem with the url/downloading.
It is during installation

Chris,
is the problem also there if you try to install in a other folder?
Tell the installer to install in a new folder.

Thanks for the friendly heads-up Eddy…

I hope you know the consequences of messing with the registry.
I have yet to do anything with this laptop as far as the registry is concerned.
One wrong move and you are back to reinstalling the OS and starting from scratch.

Eh, it is registry repair.

It uses original registry entries to restore things if they are changed.

Same within a new folder … some file created during the install but seems to block with the “permission” file

@ Para-Noid

Yes I know , I have experienced 2 times a year ago and 2 times it’s not me who created the mess but precisely avast  ;D

However 2 times I have not to re-install OS

one time it’s precisely Tweaking.com who saved me by his registry backup .
other time when windows didn’t want to start (even in safe mode) , also saves by tweanking.com with 5 main registry files saved (default, sam, security, software, system) replaced(copy/paste) in system32\config by other sain HDD booted

Edit:

Eh, it is registry repair. It uses original registry entries to restore things if they are changed.
Yes,this is exactly its role as long as we have confidence

The only registry tool that I would have no problems with but which one are you tryoing to download as there is no registry repair as such
