I’d like to submit a comment in response to a recent Avast Blog (blog.avast.com) post, but I’m unable to do so because I’m unable to register on the blog. Blog registration requires entering your email address, after which the blog software is supposed to email you a password. The password email appears to be either (a) not getting generated or (b) getting hung up somewhere on an Avast server after generation. Yes, I’ve checked my spam folder. Could someone take a look at this?
Thanks, but still no email getting sent. What did you test? Browser add-ons wouldn’t have anything to do with this. The issue is that new account confirmation emails–as well as password-forgotten emails–aren’t being sent. The website gives the message “Check your e-mail for the confirmation link.”–but no email ever arrives.
The screenshot I posted disputes that claim.
I set up a new account and the confirmation email with the needed information arrived within seconds.
Check and make sure that your ISP or spam blocker isn’t the problem.
The email is being sent as you can see from the screenshot.
But I just set up another new account using a different email address, and this time I DID receive the email. I’m still unable to get an email with the password sent for the account I originally set up.
Of course, at this point life has moved on and the comment I originally intended to post is no longer relevant.
