Avast Boot Delay, Uninstall disappeared, Windows xp slow

Hello,
something is happened i think.
The Avast boot need 1 minutes to startup ,then the boot is long.
The Avast Uninstall application is disappeared from the menu and control panel…if is it right it should exists?
After using the PC for some minutes it become slow and i need to reboot.
I have disable also the real protection, because it makes the pc very very slow.

are you using the latest version of avast?

it could be malware related.

so to be one the safe side follow this guide and attach your logs.

a malware expert will guide you from there

hey your welcome. version 5 that’s an old one the latest is version 7.0.1474. might be a good ide to upgrade to the latest version when a malware expert have lock thought your logs and say your clean :wink:

i have updated as you suggested to the latest version-
So i don’t find the uninstall also after updated , where is it? Also the pc is not fast like before the antivirus infection, what do i can do?

hey what uninstall are you talking about? the uninstall button for avast?

your computer is running slow because a malware. i will send a note to one of our malware expert here on the forum on your topic. it seems he have missed your thread.

Hi you will need to uninstall Avast and then install the latest version

Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

Hello Hey,

i have updated to the latest version without uninstall and i have yet the problem, i does not find the uninstall button, where is it?

OTL RUnFix ask me a file fix.txt, where i can produce it?..the scan produce OTL.Txt

So let me know how to uninstall and tun OTL Fix and i will step into the other steps.

From control panel uninstall Avast
After the reboot run aswclear
Reboot
Install the latest version of Avast

If Avast does not appear in Control panel add/remove then boot to safe mode and run aswclear

You need to copy and paste the text in the code box for OTL to run the fix
