Avast browser no longer able to find a connection to internet

All other browsers/programs have no trouble connecting to internet.
Done uninstall/install to no avail.
Other symptoms: Welcome screen in new tab takes half a minute to load, before: a second.
Avast antivirus is running on the computer. When I deactivate it, Avast browser works fine.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Never use more than one resident SAV on your computer.

Dears, I have the same problem as gus.erland. I have no other AV installed.

Only one AV on my system too.
This is a Win7 system. It may be relevant.

It might not be the same issue. My uninstall/install didn’t stop at 90%.
