Hello everyone
After Windows update my Avast browser stopped working, can’t open it, can’t uninstall, Downloaded it again and tried to open it and it’s not working. Little window pops up that say " Application has failed to start because it’s side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use command - line sxstrace.exe tool for more details". Anyone had this problem? How to fix it?
Hi,
could you please share which Windows build number you had before and the one you have now after the update of MS Windows?
Thank you

Hi,
please try the following steps:
There is a way/tool to remove it completely:
Uninstall Avast Secure Browser - Secure Browser Removal tool, https://download.avastbrowser.com/avast_secure_browser_uninstall.exe
Then download the following installer and run it:
https://download.securebrowser.com/ab/avast_secure_browser_setup.exe
I hope this helps.
Hi Sandu,
Your suggestion worked
Thank you

About one week ago, I had trouble with Premium Security disappearing from the Systray. I fixed it using Settings->Apps & Features-> Repair. It worked after a Restart, but Secure Browser would not open. I likewise did a Repair and it worked until today. Using Open File Location twice on the Secure Browser shortcuts, I saw two folders and two .exe files, AvastBrowser and New_AvastBrowser. I double clicked New_AvastBrowser, and it worked! Following the shortcuts once again, the old version had disappeared and New_AvastBrowser had become AvastBrowser.
