Avast Business Hub | 8.79

Release Summary

Web Control Now Fully Launched!
We are thrilled to announce the full integration of Web Control into our Business Hub, available to all Premium and Ultimate Business Security subscribers. Elevating your cyber defense strategy, Web Control empowers you to restrict access to non-essential websites and proactively blocks malicious domains, safeguarding your systems even before they establish a connection to a malicious website.

Key Features:

  • Easy setup: Get started from the Web Control widget on your site dashboard.
  • No additional cost: Web Control is available to all existing and new Premium and Ultimate Business security subscribers.
  • Runs on top of AV and Real Site: Web Control requires active Web Shield and Real Site features to work. We advise testing Real Site compatibility with your company’s network.
  • Learn more: Discover all about Web Control on our Web Control Beta Intro.
  • Try Web Control today and elevate your business’s online security!

Other Updates:
Beside this feature, we have also revamped device statuses in the device list, dashboard, and reports, to better align with their actual states, as well as extending our alerting capabilities with a new “Device added” alert.

New Feature(s) & Enhancements

Web Control Activation:

  • Web Control is now available for Premium and Ultimate Business Security. Upon logging into the console, users with active Premium and Ultimate Business Security subscriptions will encounter the Activate Web Control dialogue, guiding them through the activation steps. Note that this feature requires an up-to-date AV program version.
  • The previous “safe” status for devices without issues has been replaced with a clearer “no issues” status.
  • A new status, “no services,” is introduced for installations without any services installed, replacing the previous use of the “safe” status for this scenario.
  • New “Device added” option in Alerts. This alert informs you when a device is added to the account/site.
  • Various minor improvements have been implemented.

Resolved issues

  • Corrected the troubleshooting link from device details, ensuring it now directs to the appropriate web page rather than resulting in a 404 error.
  • Rectified the issue where a user with the Viewer role couldn’t access the Audit Log report. The Audit Log is now accessible for users with the Viewer role.
  • Fixed an error in the Shutdown dialog where the option to postpone the shutdown displayed an incorrect 6-hour value. This has been corrected to the intended 8-hour value.
  • Implemented numerous minor fixes to enhance overall system stability and performance.

Known issues

  • Exclusions containing wildcards are currently not functioning correctly on MacOS. We are actively working on resolving this issue and apologize for any inconvenience caused.
