Avast cannot scan files

Ok… I would like to scan a file downloaded, but when I right click and “scan with avast” , the scan seem cannot run properly. It pop a message box but dissapear very fast afterward, it did not tell me the file is clean or has virus on it.

Anyone know what happen on this? Please help! Thanks

Right click the ‘a’ blue icon on system tray.
Choose Program Settings.
Check ‘Show results of Explorer Extension’.

By the way, how to scan files during the transffering files on MSN messenger? Am I attach a correct exe on MSN to scan files? Please see the attachment. Thanks

C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe should do it.
Although, MSN is scanned by the IM provider of avast.

Can avast detect and delete a spyware name “winantispyware” ?

This can also be deleted using Spybot-S&D or Spyware Terminator.
