Hello, a few days ago I turned off my firewall for about an hour because I thought it was interfering with the play of a video. I ran a scan after I turned it back on and had 7 infections. Most were removed by applying the automatic fixes. Among these were the trovi PUP. Even though it seemed to have been taken care of, every time I opened a new tab I was redirected by the Trovi Search. I reset my browser (firefox) to default and that seemed to take care of it. However, one virus will not be removed. I apply the automatic fix, and it says action - deleted. When I hold the mouse over result, it says action postponed until next reboot. So I reboot, then run the virus scan again, and it is still there. I did a boot scan and it was not found on the bootup scan. Only after booting up and running the scan does it show up. Please tell me how I can rid myself of this virus. Ever since it started showing up after the scan my browsing has significantly slowed, sometimes webpages will not load at all. I notice in the bottom left corner of the screen, since the threat was detected by AVAST, something (a script?) named majuwe is being read, that is new and it seems to be associated with the slowing down or grinding to a halt of my browsing. It is in the folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows\tmp.edb. Whenever I try to do online banking the webpage won’t even load anymore, I never had this problem before.
PUP = not virus / Possible Unwanted Program …usually crap that comes bundled with freeware downloads
Clear your browsers with AdwCleaner http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/
Then run Malwarebytes and remove evrything it find https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

Did that solve it?

No, that did not solve it. I haven’t downloaded any freeware in longer than I can remember. Thanks for your time.
