I installed Musicbee music player today but the player freezes often, usually every 8 songs or so. Or it crashes and my metadata is lost (recently rated songs etc) Very annoying! I had a look at the Musicbee forum and there was a thread that suggested antivirus programs might interfere and also might prevent writing of data to the cache. So, I experimented and disabled avast! after the last few freezes. When I disable avast! the player unfreezes.
So, my question is, is there a way to get avast! to allow permissions to the Musicbee music player?
Hi Igor, I have not tried them individually – only used the option to disable by right clicking on the orange ball, and selecting ‘avast shields control -disable for 10 minutes’ …
By the way, I have Windows 7, 64 bit. I updated avast! to the latest version an hour ago, but the problem still persists.
Ok, I tested shield by shield, twice, and it appears to be the Web Shield disrupting the player (to be clear, sound continues but the screen and music controls freeze). But disabling Web Shield allows the music player to work again. Very strange…
I resolved the problem by using CC Cleaner and reinstalling Musicbee plus upgrading to the latest beta version. I also ticked ‘unblock’ on the zip folders of the install files. So… I don’t know which action fixed the problem but everything seems to be running smoothly now.
