The article allows scrolling the pictures by clicking on arrows (see the pic attached).
However Avast plugin in Chrome disallows scrolling, which means that one is unable to scroll unless the plugin is switched off.
I wonder if this is really supposed to work this way?
I don’t know why it wouldn’t work in Chrome, but it does work with Firefox and the avast Security Browser Extension installed and enabled.
Do you have any Chrome Extensions installed that may be impacting on browsing ?
I use NoScript and RequestPolicy (blocks access to 3rd party sites) firefox add-ons and I do have to allow certain sites to get the arrows to work.
Firstly, in the video I show that scrolling does not work in Chrome
Then I show that it does work in Microsoft Edge
Then I disable 1 of 2 security plugins in Chrome that potentially may lead to freezing for scrolling, that is Adguard plugin. When the webpage is refreshed we find that scrolling still does not work
Finally I disable Avast plugin in Chrome to show that scrolling starts functioning as it should
Judging by your video, you have tested the wrong scrolling )) You should have clicked on arrows right next to the picture in order to switch from one picture to another.
Please see again exactly what I did in my video to test scrolling
Btw the spec of my hardware / software is
Notebook ASUS X555LD K555 Series, Intel Core i5 @1.7GHz, 8 Ggb RAM DDR3
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Avast Free Edition 12.3.2279 (build 12.2.3126.2)
Chrome Version 52.0.2743.116 m
This time you’ve scrolled the right thing. However, looking at the picture you’ve attached, I can notice that we have different settings for Avast plugin (please see below the picture with my settings that I highlighted for convenience of perception).
In my view, judging by the names of above settings, NONE of them should have nothing to do with scrolling.
So frankly I still dont understand what I need to do in order to keep the settings, but unblock scrolling on this particular webpage ? ??
If the problem can be resolved with AOS as you mentioned earlier, would you please clarify in more detail what AOS exactly does and where you got it?
You can compare that with yours and see which setting if any makes a difference.
You start by disabling AOS extension in the chrome settings and see if that is actually what’s causing it.
It’s your computer, you’ll need to figure out which setting it is.
I’m still not convinced that it has anything to do with AOS which is why I suggest you disable it first and see if that fixes the problem.
I have found the one. It’s due to “Block ad tracking by default”. When it’s off, then the problem persists
So what should I do next? Or perhaps not me, but Avast
Maybe I’m the one that spent a whole lot of time trying to help someone who really wasn’t looking for help???
The only ones that work for Avast are the members that are tagged Avast by their Avatar.
I use the product just like you. Good luck :o
Well, in that case all that is left for me to do is thank you for your persistent interest to the problem that I’ve encountered. Really appreciate your willingness and time in order to identify the problem.
