I recently opened Google Chrome, the primary web-browser I use on a daily basis, and it automatically loads Google’s home page by default.
Avast gave a pop-up which said something along the lines of, “This site is known for phishing.” That was not the exact message, but it was similar. I do not have a screenshot of the pop-up, but I was able to attach a screenshot of the Avast Online Security extension which claims that Google has a bad reputation.
I have never had this issue before, and I have noticed at least one other post with more than one person reporting a similar problem.
The attached image is not the original pop-up, but is instead the window for the Avast Online Security extension.

I don’t even have Firefox installed on this dinosaur anymore (running Windows XP). However, my laptop is new & have not received the phishing warning at all on that one…
