Paid $80 for Avast to clear up space on my 2013 Macbook Pro for my large Adobe design files. I ran the clean out the other day and now my Mac won’t function. I finally got it to open to the gonna screen and it says my “kernel_task” is running critically high. I don’t have the money to take it in. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Yea I understand what it’s for but that isn’t helpful frankly.
One day I wake up and my computer can’t do any basic task whatsoever. I get what the kernel task is but why is it suddenly working so intensely and causing my computer to be unusable?
Sorry you had to deal with that. Situations like this are a good reminder to keep regular Time Machine backups before running any cleanup utility. Hopefully the logs or a backup can help figure out exactly what changed and make recovery a lot easier. Hope you get everything sorted out soon.
