Avast Clear - Cannot remove Previous License Information even after Activation

Is there a tool or anyway to completely remove previous licenses from an Avast product?

I recently obtained an old PC from a friend of mine who also used Avast Premier like me. I decided to activate my file on this new pc, and it activated successfully but after I performed maintenance like disk cleanup ,and registry cleanup, several days later the info from his license file appeared instead of mine.

I have uninstalled the program using Avast Clear, and reinstalled APAV again. Again the same issue. I tried searching the registry for any .lic entries but it is like a needle in a haystack. I searched and deleted every Avast file in a file search on my pc, too. I also tried doing this by disabling self-defense but to no avail either.

Bottom line is Avast Clear cleans everything but previous license info. That being said, how can I make sure that my friends license info is removed permanently?

I have never experienced this with any other software vendor that I have used especially AV and honestly, this is very frustrating Many softwares even offer removal or retention of license info.

I guess the question should be where is the key info stored? On the PC or offline in the Avast servers.

I searched my PC and removed all files, and the registry, and removed any reference to Avast in the registry.

I do not waste time with tech support for what should be an answer to a simple question.

Did your friend remove the system from his account ?

I wasn’t aware that one had to do this.

So in other words, the system is linked via Avast servers to his license which in turn would override mine upon insertion. Your servers link a system to a license upon activation. I will speak to him about this. He probably does not know either. Thanks.
