I have many clients around the US using AutoCAD with their avast! A/V with no problems. You can even globally exclude the AutoCAD directory for extreme performance.

I use AutoCAD 2014 and AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014 on both of my systems and I encounter no problems even without exclusions.
You may want to install the trial version before getting the full version to see if you like it.
As an aside, how do I protect thumb drives from getting a virus?
we have a very good program for that MCShield. www.mcshield.net
if you need info about it, red this topic. http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=104046.0
i think evry question there is to ask about it is asked there …se post from dr_bora the creator of the program
I probably don’t need any protection with regard to thumb drives since I will never share those…although, if I bring one to a print shop I could get a virus from them…hmmm…I don’t have access to a plotter anymore.
I will purchase the Comprehensive version of Avast!
