Avast conflict with Apps

My issue involves three apps and Avast 6.0
OS: Win7 64
Apps: Firefox 6.0, MS Outlook 2000, and Desktop Sidebar (an RSS feed www.desktopsidebar.com )

At OS start all apps function until Outlook 2000 starts. After Outlook 2000 starts Firefox will not start and accessing the weather feed on Desktop Sidebar will crash it. If I turnoff Avast Script shield all three apps work again although I must restart Desktop Sidebar.

I suspect this problem is so unique to me that no solution is possible, but I thought I would check.

Try:

Avast mian GUI → settings → troubleshooting → load avast service after other system services. Then reboot and test.

I gave the troubleshooting suggestion a try, but no change occurred with affected apps.

In addition to the above suggestion:

1_ web shield → EXPERT settings → “…well known browsers only”

2_ delete firewall rules related to Avast, reboot and try again. Your firewall should ask you for permissions. When that happens, accept so the firewall can rebuild Avast related rules.
